North High Street

Add to plan Remove from plan

When Lancaster was laid out in 1800, what is now High Street was named Fourth Street, the fourth street east of the Hockhocking River. An ordinance passed by the city council on February 21, 1868, changed the name to High Street. It was so named because it passed over the highest point of Lancaster at the time.
